Who We Are.

New Hope Baptist Church exists to worship and serve God and bring Him glory. We want to introduce Jesus, our Lord and Savior, to those in our community who need and desire Him. We want to be led by the Holy Spirit in all that we do. We strive as individuals and a church to keep in step with the Spirit as we pursue holiness. God's Word is very important to us.   We like to try to answer the question, "Well, if the Bible says this, then so what? What does it mean to me in my everyday life?" At New Hope Baptist Church our desire is to live out our faith each day because whatever life may bring us, God's loving hand is always there to guide and comfort us. It's up to us to learn through the Bible how to see God at work in our lives.   We want others to see the fruits of the Spirit in us. We sing all of the great hymns of our faith as well as some of the best modern, praise & worship songs of today. Community is important to us.  At New Hope Baptist you will have the opportunity to "do life" together.  New Hope Baptist Church is a great place to get involved in whatever God is leading you to do. You are warmly invited to visit us. God has a church home for every believer and New Hope Baptist Church may be yours! God also has a place for those who may not know if they are believers or not. What to Expect

We understand that trying a new church for the first time can be a little intimidating. We hope to put your mind at easy by telling you exactly what to expect on your first Sunday at New Hope.

Worship Service

There is something for everyone at New Hope Baptist. We will worship together through hymns and praise songs. We do not let tradition get in the way of relationship.  Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers during the service.

The Message

We believe that the Bible is the word of God. Each week you will hear a relevant message from God's Word. It is our prayer that it impacts you and transforms your life just like it has ours!

Our Church Family

Matoaca is a special place! We serve the rural and urban communities of Chesterfield and the Tri-City area. When you walk into New Hope Baptist you are no longer a visitor, you are family!

Sunday School

Sunday School is available to all age groups.  The adult class meets each Sunday and other age groups meet as needed.
We invite you and your family to come as you are and join us. Enjoy a time of fellowship, relationship building, and learning.
We welcome you regardless of whether you are searching for or have been walking with God for years.

Should I bring my Bible?
Bring your Bible in whatever format is most comfortable for you. Bibles are available for you to use during the worship service. They are located in the book racks on the back of the pews.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever is comfortable for you and respectful for the occasion.
What is the worship like?
The service is in traditional format with the Pastor leading the congregation through the various elements of the service that include prayer, song, scripture and sermon.
Do you have a Student and Children's Ministries?
New Hope serves Matoaca High School students, teachers, and administration.  New Hope also partners with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in an effort to speak life into the next generation. 
What do you provide for children?
Sunday School is provided for all age groups and a nursery is available for childcare during the main worship service.
How often do you celebrate communion?
Believer's communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
Does New Hope receive an offering?
We believe that our giving is done joyfully and with a heart of obedience! You will have an opportunity to worship through giving when you attend our services.
